[Barbour/Babour]
Babor, a brand that embodies the UK's upper-class outdoor lifestyle, was founded in 1894 by John Babor in South Siels, northeastern England.
It was the beginning of providing oil doclos for sailors, fishermen and port workers working under unseasonable weather in the North Sea. Its innovative oil docloth waterproof jacket was highly durable and quickly spread the reputation of Babour.
During the first and World War II, waterproof clothing was supplied to the British army, and its high functionality was proven by Captain George Phillip as the official crew clothing of the submarine Ursula during World War II.
