Mahiro Maeda Profile

Born in 1963. Animation director, animator, designer, manga artist. He belongs to Color Drawing Department, Ltd.

While studying at Tokyo Zokei University, he participated as an animator in works such as "Ultra Space-Time Fortress Macros", "DAICON IV OPENING ANIMATION", and "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind". He participated in Gainax in earnest since around 1985. "The Wings of the Royal Space Force Onamis", "Aim for the Top!" In charge of original drawings, settings, and directing at "Nadia of the Mysterious Sea". Debuted animation director on the MV of "DANCING WITH THE MOONLIGHT" by Torayasu Hotei. Participated in the establishment of Gonzo Co., Ltd. in 1992. He has worked on the world's first full digital OVA work, "Blue No. 6" and "Gango Cave".

Joined Color Co., Ltd. in 2012. In the same year, he was in charge of director, script cooperation, image board, painting contest, and design work in "Evangelion New Theatre Version: Q", and worked on concept art and design for "Des Road of Mad Max Anger" released in 2015. In 2021, directed at Shin Evangelion Theatrical Version, director of concept art, painting contests, art settings, and original drawings. In the anime "Monster No. 8", which started in 2024, he is a monster design and detail work. Most recently, he has been active in design works, painting contests, and details works in the advanced version of the theater "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuuX -Beginning-" released in January 2025.
